Ellington Financial Declares Inaugural Monthly Dividend of $0.14 Per Share
OLD GREENWICH, Conn., March 11, 2019—Ellington Financial Inc. (NYSE: EFC) ("Ellington Financial" or the "Company") today announced that its Board of Directors has declared an inaugural monthly dividend of $0.14 per share, payable on April 25, 2019 to shareholders of record as of March 29, 2019. This $0.14 monthly dividend represents an annualized dividend of $1.68 per share, which is a 2.4% increase over the previous annualized dividend of $1.64. Beginning with this dividend, the Company expects to pay common stock dividends on a monthly basis, rather than quarterly as it had previously paid dividends.
“With the completion of our conversion to a REIT, we have decided to shift to a monthly dividend. We believe that the increased frequency of distributions will benefit our investors as well as attract new investors,” said Laurence Penn, Chief Executive Officer and President.
